The 7 Deadly Sins in a Relationship

1. Jealousy
In my opinion jealousy is one of the most negative and destructive emotions there is. Never will positive come out of jealousy.
It results from fear of loss and tenure and is strictly ego-based. It’s one of the greatest threats to a relationship. A jealous partner can truly diminish your quality of life, and I’ve seen couples splitting up because of this, despite the fact that they love each other. Overcoming jealousy is not so easy, but it must start at its roots. The only way is to work on your self-love, and to increase trust in your relationship. That is something you have to accomplish together.

2. Clinging
Clinging is clearly another manifestation of the fear of loss. It is the weaker “brother” of jealousy and manifests itself through different ways, seemingly through repeated reassurances of love. You are convinced that you don’t deserve your partner, and cling to them verbally or literally. This is very often overwhelming, and will make the partner feel trapped. Persons coming from a fresh, difficult break up or divorce very often tend to cling in their new relationships.

3. Lack of Respect and Inattentiveness
Every fulfilling relationship is based on mutual respect. Without respect there will be conflicts or even abuse. Inattentiveness is a slow process, which can manifest after years in a relationship. This is taking the partner for granted, not making any efforts to maintain the relationship.

4. Wrong Ideas of a Relationship
What do you expect from a relationship, from your partner? Do you want to fulfill your childhood dream of the prince riding on the white horse, who will make all your problems go away at once? Do you believe that a relationship is always the endless love of which songs and poems are singing about? Everything will work out on its own, if only you love enough? If you believe all of this, then your relationship will fail. To know that you have to work in your relationship every day for your happiness is the key to success.

5. Having too high Expectations
Having too high expectations of a relationship right from the start will cause many problems. Not every man/girl is the love of your life and not every relationship is meant to be. Know exactly what you are looking for in a partner, but don’t set the bar too high. Unrealistic expectations will eventually lead to self-induced discontent.

6. Losing Communication
Losing communication in a relationship is a silent killer. You only detect it when it’s almost too late. This is especially a problem in long term relationships of many years. There are many ways to fight this. If you have nothing to talk about, then the solution is, of course, to create new mutual interests you could have a discussion about. If you do not have the time for long conversations, then set a fixed day in the week with one hour, where you really talk with each other (don’t forget to turn off the TV).

Communication is the key.

7. Lost in Routine
Ever been in a relationship where everything starts to get boring, because it’s always the same? The same talk, the same places you go, even sex is always the same. Well, the solution for this is obvious: break free! Create new opportunities, go to different places, meet new people, try something crazy together. The possibilities are endless, you just have to do it together.

Conclusion
The knowledge of the most common relationship killing mistakes allows you to constantly question your behavior and do your best to avoid them, whether you come from a divorce or live in a happy relationship.

Furthermore, you are now able to spot the potential causes of occurring conflicts and resolve them.

This will bring you a step closer to that happy fulfilling relationship you dream about.

Everything means nothing

We just had a wedding coverage yesterday. It was really fun working with the couple. Then here goes my favorite part: During the mass where the priest is talking. He said that you must love one another even if thats her or his good/bad side. It made me think. I guess its not applicable to everybody anymore. Most of the people today will only love/like you if you’re doing something really good to them. And this is 98% TRUE. But if you did something horrible or bad, they will simply hate you for that and everything boils down to ANGER.

I saw the movie ONE MORE CHANCE. I am not really into pinoy movies but this one really freaked me out. I’ve learned so many things from it. One of them is never pressure your partner to do what you want. Instead, ask her what she wants. Another thing is, women are so weak unlike men. The “LOVE” that they keep on telling us can be gone in just a SNAP. Now thats what we call horrible. They tend to forget everything even to the point where in the 90% thing that you’ve done well for them will be gone. And now thats another horrible thing.

Bottomline, you can’t love a person who can’t love you back because of your weaknesses. ‘Nuff said.

9 Weird Words That Amuse Me

The English language is full of weird or interesting words describing minuscule or gigantic occurrences. Some are remarkably specific and some are obtuse. Enough with the intro! Onto the list!

1. Defenestrate: I love this verb. It means to throw out a window. With only one more syllable you could just say “thrown out a window”.

2. Agnomen: It’s another name for a nickname. The mind boggles… Personally I just like the way it rolls off my tongue. Plus it sounds like a name for an evil wizard.

3. Crapulous: Describing one who ingests to much food or alcohol. A specific word that has been simplified to have a more general meaning. Here I thought that crap was just slang for fecal matter.

4. Doppelganger: This is another one of those words that is just fun to say. Try it. Now try it again. See? A doppelganger refers someone or something that resembles a person in some way. Also if the word is used in literature the doppelganger is always evil.

5. Ambergris: Such a lovely word. Ambergris is a product used in expensive perfumes. People have described Ambergris’s raw scent as sweet and earthy. It’s so rare that just a gram of it is worth 20$. So now what is this Ambergris you ask? Simply put its whale vomit.

6. Deus Ex Machina: This one gets special mention because for the longest time I pronounced the “Deus” part like “moose”. Turns out you pronounce it like “day us”. Deus Ex Machina refers to an improbable quick solution to a current arduous plot.

7. Frabjous: Random fact about me. I can recite “The Jabberwocky” from memory. Ask me some time. I even have voices and hand gestures for it. Anywho, frabjous means joyful, wonderful, great, or any other positive word. Most commonly uttered as “Oh frabjous day!” while chortling with joy. The word and many more were penned by Lewis Carroll of “Alice in Wonderland” fame.

8. Fop: A fop was the middle ages version of a metrosexual. It describes a vain man who is mainly concerned with his clothing and appearance. The word is even funnier in its adjective form, foppish.

9. Hemidemisemiquaver: A musical note having the time value of a sixty-fourth of a whole note. There is absolutely nothing funny about this whatsoever.

Never heard of this words before… but thanks to him — [ErikPersson] and I learned something (again hehehe).

9 WORDS WOMEN USE

1. Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2. Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4. Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!

5. Loud Sigh: This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6. That’s Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or Faint. Just say you’re welcome.

8. Whatever: Is a woman’s way of saying F@!K YOU!

9. Don’t worry about it, I got it: Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking “What’s wrong?” For the woman’s response, refer to #3.
